Science needs to be trusted for it to have an effect on society - and for trust to emerge, scientists have to communicate with the public. One event that is encouraging science communication is "Rendez-vous: Wissenschaft im Gespräch". In Bern, scientists and citizens come together to talk. In a recent article by UZH news discussing the event, the coordinators of the event mention the Sciencebarometer and why its results concerning the public's evaluation of science deliver an optimistic view.
