Study Programs at IKMZ

Communication lies at the heart of political, economic, and cultural processes. At IKMZ, we examine the condi-tions and impacts of communicative action at the individual, social, and societal levels from a social science perspective.
With over a thousand students, IKMZ is one of the largest communication science departments in Europe. We provide comprehensive education at the Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD levels, fostering critical thinking alongside strong analytical and methodological skills – preparing students for careers both within and beyond academia.
Our teaching is of high didactic quality, continuously updated, and grounded in real-world relevance. It encourages individual initiative and is constantly enriched through (international) exchange programs.
