If you are enrolled as a student at one of our partner institutions, you can complete a one- or two-semester placement at IKMZ.

Which courses can bachelor’s exchange students attend?

If you are enrolled on the Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences at UZH, you can decide in general which courses you would like to attend from the bachelor’s program at the University of Zurich (UZH) during your placement. However, as a bachelor’s student, you cannot book master’s modules.

Which courses can master’s exchange students attend?

If you are enrolled on the Master of Arts in Social Sciences at UZH, you can decide in general which courses you would like to attend from the master’s program at the University of Zurich (UZH) during your placement. As a master’s student at UZH, you also have the option to book bachelor’s modules. Please note that courses from a specialized Master’s program can only be booked upon request.

Do exchange students need to book modules?

Yes, you must be enrolled on the bachelor’s or master’s degree program at UZH and book modules so that assessments can be provided.

What is OLAT?

OLAT (Online Learning and Training) is an open-source learning platform at the University of Zurich. All IKMZ courses use OLAT to provide students with learning materials and to encourage collaborative learning and communication. Information on OLAT can be found here.

Will UZH issue me with a transcript of records?

Yes. Exchange students are registered as bachelor’s and master’s students at UZH. As such, exchange students are automatically sent a transcript of records listing all academic achievements. It is therefore essential that you enter the relevant contact details into your online student record prior to departure.
