IKMZ welcomes Prof. Dr. Tobias Dienlin

We are delighted to announce that, as of April 1, 2025, Tobias Dienlin has joined IKMZ as a Full Professor heading the division for Media Psychology and Methods.
Tobias Dienlin brings a wealth of experience in the fields of privacy, social media, and well-being, along with a strong commitment to open science practices. He studied psychology at Johannes Gutenberg-University Mainz and received his Ph.D. from the University of Hohenheim, focusing on "The Psychology of Privacy." During his academic journey, Tobias Dienlin held visiting positions at Ohio State University and the University of California, Santa Barbara. Prior to joining IKMZ, Tobias Dienlin served as an Assistant and then Associate Professor for Interactive Communication at the University of Vienna's Department of Communication from 2020 to 2025.
At IKMZ, Tobias Dienlin and his team will continue to investigate the intersections of digital media environments and individual well-being, furthering our understanding of how digital communication influences psychological health. He will also coordinate IKMZ’s methods and statistics curriculum.
