Department of Communication and Media Research - Internet Use & Society

Jonathan Gruber studied architecture, economics, communication and journalism in Aachen, Passau, Hamburg and Zurich. He holds a BA from the University of Passau and an MA from the University of Hamburg in Journalism and Communication Sciences. Jonathan joined the Internet Use and Society division at the Department of Communication and Media Research (IKMZ) as a research and teaching assistant in fall 2019. He is interested in people’s use of digital communication for social interactions and people’s awareness and understanding of algorithms. 

Since fall 2020 Jonathan is a participant of the DSI Excellence Program at the University of Zurich. 

Together with Sina Blassnig, Jonathan is PhD and PostDoc representative at the IKMZ.
