Depending on what you are looking for, different strategies will help in your search.
You can search books and journals (including e-journals) in the research portal. E-books do not always appear in the catalog immediately, so you may sometimes also need to search on the relevant publisher’s website.
UZH/ZB research portal
The IKMZ library’s holdings are recorded in the search portal. This portal acts as a central point of access to search all holdings of the NEBIS network, which, in addition to the libraries at the University of Zurich, includes the Zurich central library and ETH library, as well as many other libraries of universities and research institutions in all language regions of Switzerland. The search portal also allows you to search ZORA (Zurich Open Repository and Archive) and the Primo Central Index article database (beta).

ZORA – Zurich Open Repository and Archive
The database is open and globally accessible. It includes articles in scientific periodicals, book chapters, conference contributions, monographs, dissertations, postdoctoral research and editorships of scientific works. Researchers at the University of Zurich store their published scientific publications in ZORA.

Swiss Periodicals Portal (SZP)
Details of the periodicals held by Swiss libraries.
Directly access to the relevant databases dealing with the subject of communication science and media research by restricting the topic to «Publizistik- und Kommunikationswissenschaft». Suitable for searching by individual periodical articles.
The Factiva database is maintained by Dow Jones. Using this database, you can access the full text of several thousand newspapers, periodicals, trade publications and press agencies from all around the world. In addition, it offers extensive company information, analysts’ reports, financial and market data as well as selected web and blog content.
The online index offers specialized periodicals, trade publications, magazines, books, newspapers, reports and videos. This database contains information on more than 160 topic areas.
This multidisciplinary database of abstracts and citations for scientific literature from the Elsevier publishing house is the largest of its kind. Content is analyzed from around 19,500 periodicals – including open access periodicals –, from more than 5,000 international publishers as well as conference contributions, book series, scientific websites and patents. Direct access to the full text is available for those periodicals licensed by the University of Zurich.
