ECREA Political Communication Section Conference in Zürich
The Interim Conference of the ECREA Political Communication Section took place from 22 to 23 November in Zurich. The hosts Frank Esser and his team, Ben Fretwurst and Florin Büchel, welcomed 110 participants from 20 European countries. With 80 presentations divided into 16 panels, this highly attended and extremely successful conference demonstrated the vitality of the ECREA Political Communication Section. Among the most widely discussed topics were populism, migration, Europe, election campaigns, mediatization, misinformation, user involvement, psychological effects, and the changing patterns of news consumption. The quality of the presentations was outstanding and the participants enjoyed the discussions on the conference floor as well as the equally important informal conversations during the coffee breaks. According to the positive feedback from participants, the conference was a resounding success. We would like to thank our student assistants Anna Ständer, Eliza Mitova, and Lina Josefine Gerichhausen, who supported us as receptionists and photographers.
